2 months...

Sawyer is now 2 months olds, almost 12 lbs., and smiles ALL the time. He lights up our world on a daily basis. He is also really close to rolling over which seems crazy to me that he will be mobile soon. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that!

Our anniversary is on Monday! 2 years and 1 baby later...still making it happen. We both have the day off, but no set plans as of yet. We will NOT be doing laundry however, or dishes, or any other absurd chore. We will definitely be treating it as a mini vacation despite the fact that we are spending it in KC.

Brendan is really enjoying his job so far. Garmin is apparently a ridiculous maze, because the hallways have street names! As in your office could be located at 32nd and Bell...how crazy is that? Super crazy. Also, his desk has hydraulics, and can be raised and lowered much like the Detonator at Worlds of Fun. So basically Brendan draws pictures at a theme park, that's his new job! Haha!

This is B

So here is my first go at blogging. Today Claire is taking Sawyer and the girls she nannies for blueberry picking while I stay home and get some work done. I am very excited to start my new job on Monday the 28th with Garmin and for the first time (when starting a new job) Im actually kind of nervous. This weekend we are going to the lake with my family. It will be great to relax for a few days before my schedule completely changes on me, again! What will be interesting is that my sister Kaitlyn is bringing her boo (boyfriend). Hopefully we will get to know him better and he won't be so nervous around us. Sawyer gets bigger and bigger everyday and night, literally. He is so cool. Whats really fun is that his smiling doesn't mean he is going to poop anymore. He will actually look at you and smile when you are talking to him. This really hits me hard and does every time it happens. I feel like he will be the coolest kid on the block. Well, that was a pretty good blog/ramble. Hope to see you soon.

Baby Pictures

Here are lots of pictures for your enjoyment!

I'm a Delinquent

Sorry about the extra long break between blogs...apparently there actually are some of you checking this site...

WE HAD A BABY!! haha, so that's new. He's beautiful and amazing and becoming more so every day. I have recovered, Brendan's great, baby rocks and has been sleeping for 6 hour blocks at night! Here are some other highlights for you...basically the last 6 weeks in a nut shell.

Sawyer came home and was welcomed very warmly with a sniff from Guy. He has adjusted to the having a baby in the house extremely well and likes to nap on Sawyer's rug.

We had a TON of visitors. Not a lot of family time for two weeks or so..but we got through it. It was really great to see everyone and of course we wanted everyone to get to see Sawyer, but it was overwhelming at the same time.

I cried everyday at approximately 8:15 pm for the first three weeks of Sawyer's life. Anything or nothing could set it off. Just Sawyer crying made me cry, I couldn't handle his little lip quivering. Philip and Laura both having to go back home was really hard...lots of tears. But I've pulled it together since and haven't cried for quite a while.

Baby's First Road Trip!!!! Bren and I decided we NEEDED to get out of the house, so we packed up for an overnight in Manhattan. It was the best idea. We caught up with some old friends and Bren got in some ultimate and of course we hit up Rock a Belly.

I've starting working again. This is my second week being back with the girls I nanny for. It's going really well...not as stressful to have three kids as I thought...and the girls loving having Sawyer around.

Brendan is still searching for a job but has had a lot of interviews, two with Garmin alone. Send all your good thoughts his way!!

Well now you are sufficiently updated in the lives of the Orwigs. Again, sorry for the delinquency. I'll do better.

Love to all of you!!

2 days late...

A picture of all the lovely ladies on Easter Sunday!!

Sawyer is officially 2 days past his due date, which I doubt I'll be getting an apology for. I'm ready for something new, but he seems to be fairly content in his little home. On the bright side, my awesome siblings have set up a prenatal massage for me tomorrow afternoon!! I am beyond excited about it, and really really touched that they take such good care of me. I can't wait for everyone to be in town next week to meet the little guy. If Sawyer decides to be a completely lazy dude, he will be forced out next Wednesday. This is obviously not my first choice, but that's as far as my doctor advises me to go. I certainly don't need him to be getting any bigger. 41 weeks seems long enough to me...too long really, but I'm dealing.

2 Weeks 2 Go...

Sawyer's room is ready...all we need is the baby! I'm going to weekly appointments now, and technically have made it to full term. Just waiting...and waiting.

33 weeks and counting...

I had a surprise ultrasound today at the doctor. I'm measuring about 3 weeks behind, but after checking in on the little man they found him to be measuring just as he should be. 4 lbs. and growing fast!! His feet are way bigger, and his head took up the entire screen. Much different than he was at 18 weeks. He is already in head down position too, making it impossible to see his face, but a good sign otherwise. It doesn't actually mean he will be here any earlier...I just like to pretend that's what it means.

Brendan and Chris (Bren's dad) put the crib together tonight and it looks amazing. It makes our weird, extra, spare room actually look like a nursery!

Thanks to everyone who came to my shower last saturday. It was so beautiful, the food was super delicious, and we got some great gifts including the most adorable piggy bank ever personalized for someone named Sawyer! Everything we got was awesome, and will come in very handy here in just a few weeks!

Love to all!

Blackout!

Yeah, so I blacked out at Target very briefly and had to sit with my head down fanning myself. It was a little scary, but I was just overheated after my workout, everything is fine. However NO one offered to help me. I'm sorry, but if you see a pregnant woman looking scared sitting on the floor fanning herself, you ask her if she needs help and you get her some water!!! Needless to say I will be taking it easy on the workouts from now on. Sawyer is growing and taking up a ton of space, or at least that's how it feels. He kicks ALL the time. We are slowly getting his room ready, and quickly getting excited to meet him!!
